(Learning Contracts MUST be signed by a parent by Monday!)
Â
ATN p. 16-17 # 9-19. Hint: When making the number lines for the first two problems, it would be good to use an interval of 1/2. Then start with your lowest number and put that to the furthest left on your numberline. The tick marks should be evenly spaced and marked -1.5, -1, -.5, 0, .5, 1, 1.5, 2. Once your tick marks are in place, you can mark your numbers in the problems with points.Â
Monday=Read 15 minutes and complete journal entry
Tuesday=Read 15 minutes and complete journal entry
BY FRIDAY=Complete Book Review Graphic Organizer…be ready to type it!Â
(If you want to use Friday’s lab time to post writing pieces to the moodle, you may type your review at home and save to a flash drive. That way, you can simply paste it to the moodle and spend the remainder of the class period working on other pieces.)
Today we passed out new books called “Accentuate the Negative.” (ATN) We will be studying integers and their operations. I met with each child to discuss his/her score on the Number Sense Formative Assessment. Overall, students did well!
Tonight’s homework is ATN page 16 #1-6 and page 19 #39-43. These should be answered in the students’ 5 subject math notebook.
Science Vocabulary: (complete in notebook)
metric system, SI, mass, weight, volume, meniscus, density
Metric Measurement Quiz on Friday, September, 30th
Bring in your Mentos/Diet Cola supplies by Friday, September 30th
Please complete the review packet. Entire packet must be done by tomorrow because we will be going over it in class tomorrow. Remember, the SuMmative Assessment is Friday. There are no retakes on the Summative Assessments, so we are doing our best to make sure we learn everything BEFORE the test! Calculators are permitted on the test, so make sure you have one with you!
Adventure Team
Fundraiser
One part of our team’s mission is to engage in philanthropic projects that instill in the students a respect for community and a willingness to help others. Our primary philanthropic event this year will be raising money for Cleveland’s Alta House.  The Alta House, located in Little Italy, provides services for the elderly such as transportation, nutrition and meal programs, friendly visitation, and recreational activities. They also serve the youth and community with after-school activities, art programming, field trips, and tutoring. The funds we raise will help keep these programs strong and will also assist in other Alta House community outreach efforts.Â
