At Red Hill School, fifth grader Bradley Chalkers was a very big bully!  He gets bad grades, has no friends, and sits in the last seat, last row.  A new kid Jeff arrives at the school and wants to be friends with Bradley until some trouble comes when Bradley gets a black eye.  The new school counselor Carla Davis tries to help Bradley with his problems.  While Carla is helping Bradley with his problems, Bradley makes friends and gets invited to a birthday party!  But something bad happens to Carla and things don’t go that well with Bradley and her.  Bradley wishes he could still see Carla, but he knows that they will never forget each other!

Under the Serpent Sea is a very good fantasy book.  It is a book that involves a witch and a wizard.  They both want the red eye.  The witch wants it so she can change her mother back to normal.  The wizard wants it for evil.  If you want to know what else happens, you can check out this book.

Do you like ghost stories?  If you do, you might consider reading The Graveyard Book.  After a mysterious man named Jack murders his family, baby Bod winds up in a graveyard.  The ghosts agree to take him in and raise him as one of their own.   He has many exciting adventures while living in the graveyard, some with humans and others with fantastic creatures.  His graveyard family really loves him and tries to protect him from the mysterious Jack.  Eventually, though, he will have to face Jack.  What will happen?  Read this 2009 Newbery winner to find out.
