What is Book Blab?
To blab means to chatter, and that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to chatter about books. I will be posting reviews of books that I have read. Each review will include the title, the author, a summary of the story, and the reason I liked or disliked the book.
If you want to post a review on Book Blab, type it up and email it to me at jcarlson@mayfieldschools.org. Make sure you include the title and author of the book as well as your name, school, and grade. If you’re a Mayfield student or staff member, you can save your review to a public drive. Email me your name and school as well as the drive, folder, and file name.
When writing a review, tell what the book is about. Who are the main characters? Where did the book take place? What did the main characters do in the story? Did they have any problems or adventures? Remember - do not tell the ending! Please tell why you liked or disliked the book. Be specific so others can decide if they want to read it. Did the book make you laugh? Is it filled with action-packed adventure? Do you think the main character would make a good friend?
Anyone is welcome to comment about books that have been reviewed, but please be polite. It’s okay to criticize the book but never criticize the reviewer. To comment on a book, click on the Comment link below the title. The only section you need to complete is the big message box. You do not need to fill in the boxes labeled name, email, or url. If you wish, you can include your name and grade at the end of your comment. Students should only use their first names! When you’re finished writing your comment, click on “Say it!” If you want to read more rules for posting comments, read the page entitled “Rules.”
